- For that press the Print Screen (PS) key on your keyboard.
- In the following menu, you will see two options below. One to take a screenshot and one to record the screen.
- Click on the camera icon which is the first option to take a screenshot in it.
- The above 3 options are for selecting the area to take screenshots.
- The first selection option is to select the part that we want to take a custom screenshot. The second screen is to take a screenshot of the entire screen. The third window is where we can select the desired one from the various windows we have open and take a screenshot of it.
- Select the required one and click on the big circle in the middle.
- Screenshot ready
- Select the Pictures option in the folder to view the screenshot. Take the Screenshots folder in it. It will have a screenshot.

- The first selection option is for us to select the part we want to record screen custom. The second screen is for screen recording everything we see on our screen. The third window is where we can select the required one among the various windows we have open and take its screen record.
- Select the required one and click on the big red circle in the middle.
- Screen recording has started.
- Record as necessary.
- Click on the record indicator at the top of the screen to finish.
- Screen record video ready.
- Select the Video option in the folder to view the recorded video. In it take the Screencasts folder. It will have a video.
Keyboard Shortcut For Taking Screenshots in Ubuntu 18.04 and Below Versions:
We want to quickly take a screenshot of the desktop, a window, or an area at any time using those global keyboard shortcuts.
- To take a screenshot from the whole screen of your computer: Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard.
- To take a screenshot of a window: Press both the Alt + Print Screen keys on your keyboard.
- To take a screenshot of an area we have selected: Press both Shift + Print Screen on your keyboard.
When we take a screenshot the picture is saved in the Picture Folder automatically. The filename of the screenshot begins with a screenshot and includes the date and time it was taken.
Keyboard Shortcut For Taking Screen Records in Ubuntu 18.04 and Below Versions:
- We can make a video recording of what happening on our screen.
- Press the Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R keys on your keyboard. Then start recording the whole screen of your computer.
- A red circle is displayed in the top right corner of the screen when the recording is in progress.
- Once we have finished, press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R again to stop the recording.
- The video is automatically saved to the Video Folder.
